Crews Respond to Fatal MVA
May 2nd, 2010 At 18:02 hours Taskforce 43 was dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident at Route 206 and Medford Lakes Road. C4300 arrived at 18:03hrs and reported a multiple car MVA in the intersection and he would be checking. C4300 quickly upgraded the assignment to a rescue with cardiac arrest upon investigation. With the assistance of Bystanders C4300 was able to remove the trapped person from vehicle. R4399 arrived and was redirected to assist with patient care. A4394 was next to arrive and began care of the most critically injured. C4300 then requested two additional ambulances to the scene. At this time central dispatched Station 439 third rig and station 289. A4391 and A4392 arrived simultaneously and began care of the next to critically injured. A2891 was next to arrive and took care of the remaining patient. A4391, A4392, A4394, and A2891 all transported their patients to a local hospital for evaluation. C4300 also requested a fire police strike team to shut down the roadway while the State Police conducted their investigation. Unfortunately one person succumbed to their injuries.
